Biometric capture


Receiving and recording in a reproducible form of the signal(s) of the biometric characteristics (biometric characteristics) directly from the individual(s), or from the representation(s) of the biometric characteristics (biometric characteristics).

Note 1 to entry: An example of a representation is a photograph.

Note 2 to entry: The term “reproduced” refers to a recording, not to the original signal.

Note 3 to entry: A signal can be created by a biometric characteristic or created elsewhere and be transformed by a biometric characteristic. For example, a person lit by incident light

Note 4 to entry: A plurality of biometric characteristics can be obtained from a single individual or from a plurality of individuals.
